In the last week, I have encountered two situations where an Augsburg web page had been put together using nothing but images. The pages had text content, but the text was part of images. I’ve seen instances of this before, but not as severe as what I saw in these two pages. So I decided it was time to address this. Continue reading “Text in Images”

Content Manager Training 11-21-2013

Notes

  • Rather than offering two identical training sessions in the future, I’m considering offering “Basic” and “Advanced” sessions to better meet the needs of the spectrum of content managers we have.
  • Someone suggested the idea of open work sessions, where anyone could come work on their site. I would be there to answer questions and offer assistance but it would not be a formal training time. We’ll try this in lieu of a regular training session for December.

A link is a word, group of words, or image that you can click on to go to a new page. There are a couple of ways to add links to your posts or pages. You can use either the Visual editor or the Text editor, as described below. Continue reading “Text Links”

Managing Documents (Web Folders)

Update: March 2020. While the information below is still accurate, your department may prefer to use Google Drive. It’s best to share from a Google Drive account owned by your department (rather than through an individual’s Google account), and Google Shared Drive is ideal for this. Talk to your LFC about Google Shared Drive, and how to to get one set up.
